Allison Moy Hayhurst is a southern-raised Chinese American NY-based producer, writer, and puppeteer. Most recently, she produced her first feature film "And Through the Portal We Go", which premiered in 2024 and has already won multiple awards including Best Fantasy Feature and Best Acting Ensemble. She is a co-founder of Evening Squire Productions and has been instrumental in the production and writing of their myriad of award-winning short films. Notable projects include live-action puppet short "The Pits"; coming-of-age dramedy "15 Down" (now on Amazon Prime); musical rom-com "Uncertainty Principle"; dark-comedy-horror-mockumentary "Cook With The Heart" (currently in development as a feature film); the spoken-word dance film "Upside Down Plain Face"; and the action-comedy "BEAT".
Additionally, she oversees Evening Squire’s theatre production slate including the world premiere of the Off-Broadway Afro-Surrealist "demons." and the "Rent" musical tour in Australia.
She has won several awards for her work including Best Writing (15 Down) and has guided short films into over 100 film festivals internationally, including two Best of Fest tours with the New York International Children’s Film Festival and Telluride Mountainfilm. She is a proud member of PANO, Asians in Advertising, and has participated in several Sparrow Film Projects and Women’s Weekend Film Challenges (Moonshot Initiative).
Allison received her BA from The University of Alabama and later was part of the Actors Theatre of Louisville apprentice program where she trained under American Theatre Hall of Fame inductee Jon Jory. She also has a passion for improv comedy, costume design, vampire/witch novels, and food competition reality shows. Allison has lived in NYC for almost 15 years and will never turn down an opportunity for a Flushing food crawl.
